Be True - for Lindy's

Hello all you arty people!!!! It's Kerry with you today and I have a fun background technique to share with you today using Lindy's fabulous  Embossing Powders and Sprays.

8

For this project you will need some of the  Lindy's embossing powder and a few colors of sprays or magicals that 'play' nicely together, a cellophane bag (or any piece plastic), a stamp or 2, some embossing ink and some white cardstock! Lets go...

1(1)

To start, stamp your white card with embossing ink and sprinkle Purely white embossing powder over the stamped area and heat set.

2

Next you will need some color.  I have chosen Sweet violet purple teal, Caribbean blue and TiffanyLou blue sprays. You can use the magicals if you prefer.

3

Spray a small amount of each of your chosen colors onto your cellophane bag and allow the colors to intermingle. If you are using magicals, tap a small amount of pigment onto the bag and mist with water. Remember, the magicals are potent, so a tiny bit goes a long way!

4

Leave the cellophane bag on the desk and pick up your embossed card, spray the card with a good amount of water and place it face down onto the color. The bag will adhere to the card and then you can turn it over. You will be able to manipulate the color through the bag with your fingertips if you have any 'holes' in your color.

5

Remove the bag and mop up and excess with a paper towel and then dry off! Voila!!!! Awesome watercolored background in a few seconds :)

6

To embellish my card I have used a little gauze, some lace, flowers and diecut shapes.

7

You could make several backgrounds and have them ready to go when you need to make a card. Or use the background to cut some beautiful colored shapes.

Other Products: White card, Versamark ink, stamps, lace, flowers, gauze, word sticker, brads, pearls and prills.
Thanks for dropping by and have a Magical Day xx

  1. Hi Kerry,
Love these backgrounds....and those Stencil Girl stencils. Do you know if I can buy them in Australia?
